Salem's sago units, kolusu workshops, handloom weavers and steel suppliers mostly sell to other businesses, often in other states. We build websites that do that selling: grade sheets for starch buyers, design catalogues for silver dealers and online stores for Salem silk and fabric.
AvanceZone Technology builds websites for Salem businesses from Sulur, Coimbatore, roughly 160 km away by road, and has designed and hosted websites since 1998. Pricing matches our Coimbatore packages: ₹9,999 one-time plus hosting for a 5-page site, ₹24,999 for a 15-page site with a CMS, and a quote for dealer catalogues, online stores and portals. Because of the distance, Salem projects run mainly over calls, video and WhatsApp, with a planned visit when a project needs one. We also run our own bulk SMS and WhatsApp platform for dealer broadcasts.
Most web design pages for Salem could be about any town. Salem's trades are specific, and so are the websites they need. These are the figures we work from, with sources.
| Trade | What the record shows | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Sago and starch | More than 650 units extract sago from cassava; the region meets nearly 80% of national demand for sago and starch | Wikipedia, Salem |
| Salem Sago GI | GI granted March 2023 to SAGOSERVE; APEDA facilitated the first direct GI-tagged Salem Sago export, to Canada | InsightsIAS, Feb 2026 |
| Silver anklets | Over 10,000 production units, with about 1.5 lakh people dependent on the trade; GI application still pending | Silver Anklet Manufacturers Welfare Association, via DT Next, Apr 2025 |
| Handloom GIs | Salem Fabric and Salem Silk are registered GIs; Salem mango has applied | Salem district administration |
| Steel | SAIL's Salem Steel Plant, established 1981 | Wikipedia, Salem |
A purchase manager at a textile mill, a paper mill or a food company does not need your history. They need to know which grades you make, what each is for and whether you can supply their monthly quantity.
So we build one page per product, laid out the same way every time, with a downloadable spec sheet. Sago pearls and native or modified starch each get their own page. The format means a buyer comparing three Salem units can compare like with like.
If you sell part of your output through SAGOSERVE and part directly, the site can make clear which grades are available for direct orders, and to whom.
The first direct GI-tagged Salem Sago export, to Canada, shows where things are going. Units that want export enquiries need an English site with spec sheets, packing details and FSSAI and lab documents ready to download.
| On each grade page | Example of what goes there |
|---|---|
| Product and grade | Sago pearls by size, or starch by type |
| Used for | Food, textile sizing, paper, adhesives |
| Spec | Moisture, whiteness and other values from your lab |
| Packing | Bag sizes and lorry or container loads |
| Supply | Minimum lot and lead time |
| Documents | Spec sheet and certificates as PDF |
| Enquiry | Grade, monthly quantity, delivery location |
The Silver Anklet Manufacturers Welfare Association puts the trade at over 10,000 production units supporting about 1.5 lakh people (DT Next, April 2025). Many sell to dealers in other states, and the designs often travel as WhatsApp photos that get lost in the chat. A catalogue site gives them a permanent home.
Each design has its number, photos from two angles and its weight per pair. Dealers can filter by weight band, style and purity.
The public sees designs. Approved dealers log in to see making charges and prices, so retail customers never see your trade rates.
As a custom feature, you enter the morning's silver rate once and each design's price is worked out from weight, rate and making charge.
Your name on every image makes copied designs easier to trace and harder to pass off.
Dealers add designs and quantities to an order sheet that arrives on your WhatsApp and email as one clean list.
Salem kolusu does not have a GI tag yet; the application is pending. We keep GI wording off your site until it is granted.
Silver anklet demand peaks around Pongal, Akshaya Tritiya and Deepavali. A catalogue that goes up the week before a festival is too late, because dealers stock up earlier.
Photograph new designs in November and December. Load them and send the catalogue link to dealers before the year ends.
Refresh the catalogue by early March. Retire designs that did not sell at Pongal so dealers see what is current.
The longest run-up. Load new designs by August and plan dealer broadcasts for September.
Check which designs dealers viewed most, using Google Analytics on the site, and plan the next set around them.
Dealer broadcasts before each peak can go by bulk SMS in Salem or the WhatsApp Business API, both run on our own platform.
Salem Fabric and Salem Silk are both registered Geographical Indications, according to the Salem district administration's GI list. That gives weavers and societies something most online sellers cannot claim, provided they are authorised to use it.
A store for handloom has to answer what a buyer cannot check through a screen: the material, the weave, the exact length and width, how the colour looks in daylight and how to wash it. We set up product pages with those fields as standard, so nothing is left to a phone call.
A catalogue with WhatsApp enquiries fits the ₹24,999 package. A full store with cart, payment gateway and shipping is a custom build; our e-commerce case study shows what that includes.
Firms supplying SAIL's Salem Steel Plant and other heavy industry need a capability page, a machinery list, quality procedures and a downloadable company profile for vendor registration.
Salem mango's GI application is pending, so the site should describe varieties and the season without GI wording. A bulk-order form with variety, quantity and delivery date does most of the work.
A careers page that is easy to apply through, with clear role descriptions, does more for recruitment than a services list.
The region has more than 75,000 handlooms and spinning mills (Wikipedia). Mills need count ranges, capacity and certifications; powerloom units need a short capacity page.

Based on scope
Hosting from ₹900 a year. .in and .com domains available. Written scope and fixed price before we start.
We are in Sulur, not Salem, and we will not pretend otherwise. This is how the work actually runs.
You show us your products, your current site or catalogue and who your buyers are. We send a written scope and fixed price.
Photos, price lists, spec sheets and certificates come in on WhatsApp or by email. We write the pages.
For large catalogues, online stores or dealer systems we fix a day in Salem for the kickoff or for training. Small sites rarely need one.
You check every page on your own phone and send changes as messages or voice notes.
Training on screen share in Tamil or English, then support by phone and WhatsApp, Monday to Saturday.
If you want someone at your office every week, a Salem-based agency will suit you better. If calls and WhatsApp work for you, the distance makes little difference to the website you get.
About us: our Sulur office. Other cities: areas we serve.
Fifteen minutes on video is enough for us to see what you sell and suggest a site structure. You get a fixed quote the same working day.
