AvanceZone Technology provides bulk SMS to Salem businesses through its own DLT-compliant gateway, run from Sulur, Coimbatore, where the company has operated since 1998. The Starter Pack is ₹0.18 per SMS with a minimum of 10,000 credits, the Business Pack is ₹0.14 per SMS with a minimum of 50,000 credits, and larger volumes are quoted. DLT entity registration costs about ₹5,900 a year including GST, paid to the operator's portal; headers and templates are free to register. Tamil is sent as Unicode, which fits 70 characters per credit instead of 160, so plan Tamil campaigns at two or three credits per number.
The same rates apply in every city we serve. The DLT fee goes to the telecom operator, not to us.

Price does not change the timing rules. Promotional SMS is delivered only between 9 AM and 9 PM and never to numbers on the DND registry. Transactional and service messages, such as OTPs, order confirmations and fee reminders, go out 24×7 and do reach DND numbers.

English SMS uses the GSM-7 character set: 160 characters fit in one SMS, and longer text is split into parts of 153. Tamil cannot be written in GSM-7, so it travels as Unicode (UCS-2): 70 characters in one SMS, then 67 per part. Each part is a credit. Tamil vowel signs are stored as separate characters, so கொலுசு, which reads as three letters, counts as six.

Salem runs on different trades from Coimbatore, so the messages differ too.
The Silver Anklet Manufacturers Welfare Association puts the trade at over 10,000 production units and about 1.5 lakh dependent people, with peaks at Pongal, Deepavali and Akshaya Tritiya (DT Next, April 2025). SMS suits dealer pre-booking calls, design launches and dispatch confirmations.
Salem has more than 650 units making sago from cassava, and the region meets nearly 80% of India's demand for sago and starch (Wikipedia, Salem). Useful SMS: lot weighment and dispatch confirmations, payment reminders, and a daily rate notice, which is promotional and so goes from 9 AM.
Salem Fabric and Salem Silk are both GI-registered, according to the district's GI list. Retailers send festival offers as promotional SMS and "your order is ready" as service SMS, on separate templates.

Firms around the SAIL Salem Steel Plant (established 1981) can send shift changes, overtime calls and salary-credited notices to workers on basic phones with no data plan.
Dealers order weeks before their customers buy, so an offer sent the night before the festival arrives too late. Spread the sends across the season.

If your billing or ERP software can make an HTTP request, it can send an SMS the moment a lot is weighed or an order is packed. The call on the right sends the sago dispatch template above, filled in.
A successful call returns a message ID, and GET /sms/status/{id} tells you whether it was delivered. Retry only on a connection failure, an HTTP 429 or a 5xx response, never on a 4xx error, so a buyer does not get the same message twice. More PHP examples are on our developer pages.
