Matrimony software is sold four ways, and each price tag hides different running costs. Here are published Indian market prices side by side, a first-year budget worked line by line, and what a cheap script can cost you later.
A matrimony website in India costs anywhere from a few thousand rupees for a marketplace script to ₹10 lakh or more for a custom platform with apps. Vendor pages we read on 1 November 2026 put a basic installed PHP script at about ₹30,000 to ₹60,000 one-time, and hosted subscriptions at about US$45 to ₹15,000 a month plus setup. The build is rarely the biggest cost over time: moderation staff, SMS and WhatsApp, gateway fees, hosting and maintenance keep running. AvanceZone, in Sulur, Coimbatore, runs Matrimonial Cloud, a white-label matrimony platform; our price is quoted after a demo call.
Asking prices from vendor pages and marketplaces, read on 1 November 2026. They are other companies' prices, not ours. Ranges differ even within one vendor: Matrimic's cost article starts at ₹25,000, its pricing page at ₹1,50,000 for a self-hosted licence. Always ask what a quoted price includes.
| Route | Published price | What you get | What comes later |
|---|---|---|---|
| Readymade PHP script, installed by a vendor | ₹30,000 to ₹60,000 one-time for a basic script; ₹60,000 to ₹1,20,000 with more features | Source code on your hosting, your logo and colours, a fixed feature list | Hosting renewal, maintenance at ₹2,000 to ₹10,000 a month, paid changes, apps extra |
| White-label SaaS, a hosted subscription | About US$45 a month (a first-year offer, plus US$65 setup) up to ₹15,000 a month; one Chennai vendor charges ₹10,000 a month plus ₹1,60,000 setup | Your brand and domain; hosting, updates and maintenance inside the fee | The fee after any introductory year, exporting your data if you leave, messaging and gateway charges |
| Custom build | ₹50,000 to ₹2,00,000 for a "custom and advanced" website; ₹2,00,000 to ₹10,00,000 with Android and iOS apps; enterprise projects from ₹6,00,000 | The workflow you specify, and usually the code | Months, not weeks; every later change is paid work |
| Marketplace script or freelancer | US$39 to US$73 for a regular licence on CodeCanyon; IndiaMART asking prices from ₹3,850 to ₹5,90,000, with 24 of 32 between ₹10,000 and ₹90,000 | Code only; installation, hosting and support are up to you | Licence limits, paid add-ons, short support, security updates you apply |
The vendor installs the code it sells everyone and changes the logo and colours. PG Softwares in Coimbatore, for example, lists ₹30,000 and ₹60,000 packages with the first year's domain and 1 GB hosting, then ₹6,000 a year. You usually own the code, and with it every PHP upgrade and security fix, which is paid work unless a maintenance contract covers it.
You rent a configured portal, and updates arrive without you asking. You do not own the code, so ask what the fee becomes after any introductory period and how you export your members if you leave. Matrimonial Cloud, our platform, belongs here.
Worth it when your community has rules no script handles. Budget for a developer after launch as well. If most of what you need is standard, a configured platform with a few custom additions usually costs less.
Envato's licence summary says a Regular licence may not be used in an end product that is sold. A paid-membership portal should check whether it needs the Extended licence: US$249 for the best-selling matrimony script listed, whose OTP feature is a further US$20 add-on. We found no reliable public sample of freelancer installation quotes, so we give no range for that.

Two portals bought the same way can cost very different amounts to run. These lines move the total.
| Cost driver | Why it matters | Figure to plan with |
|---|---|---|
| Community and languages | Each language needs translated labels, emails and templates. A Tamil (Unicode) SMS fits 70 characters per part, not 160. | Translation time; the same alert may use two or three SMS parts |
| Profile depth and horoscope | Star, rasi, birth place and family details each become a field, a filter and something to moderate. Porutham calculation is separate software. | More set-up; astrology integration priced separately |
| Photo moderation | Photos should be checked before they go public, and someone has to verify IDs | Staff hours, which no software quote includes |
| Payment gateway | A fee on every online payment, plus UPI and GST invoice set-up | About 2% of online collections |
| DLT for SMS | Required before any commercial SMS, OTPs included | Entity about ₹5,900 a year incl. GST, renewed annually on Jio, Airtel and Vi, plus SMS credits |
| Billed per delivered template message since 1 July 2025. Since 1 October 2026, service replies are billed after 1,000 free per number per month. | Marketing about ₹0.8631, utility and authentication about ₹0.115 per message (indicative, Oct 2026), plus 18% GST and a platform fee | |
| Hosting | Photos fill a disk faster than anything else on the site | ₹3,000 to ₹10,000 a year (Matrimic's range); our own Linux plans run from ₹900 to ₹12,000 a year plus GST |
| Domain and SSL | Renewed yearly. A basic SSL certificate is free with most hosting, ours included. | ₹800 to ₹1,500 a year for the domain (Matrimic) |
| Data migration | Moving members from an old script, a spreadsheet or a paper register | Quoted by volume |
| Ongoing support | PHP and security updates, bug fixes, small changes | ₹2,000 to ₹10,000 a month (Matrimic) |

The assumptions: one community portal in Tamil and English, about 500 registered members by the end of the year, 100 of them paying ₹1,500 online for a plan, built on a readymade script installed by a vendor.
| Item | How the figure is worked out | Year one |
|---|---|---|
| Script and installation | Midpoint of the ₹30,000 to ₹60,000 basic-script range | ₹45,000 |
| Domain, hosting and SSL | ₹6,000, the yearly domain-plus-1 GB-hosting renewal one Coimbatore vendor publishes; SSL from a free certificate | ₹6,000 |
| DLT entity registration | About ₹5,900 including GST, so the portal can send SMS OTP fallbacks | ₹5,900 |
| WhatsApp messages | 1,000 authentication + 12,000 utility (interest alerts) at ₹0.115 = ₹1,495; 2,000 marketing (four renewal broadcasts to 500 members) at ₹0.8631 = ₹1,726.20; total ₹3,221.20 plus 18% GST of ₹579.82 | ₹3,801 |
| Payment gateway fees | About 2% of ₹1,50,000 collected online (100 × ₹1,500) | ₹3,000 |
| Maintenance and updates | ₹2,000 a month, the bottom of the ₹2,000 to ₹10,000 range, × 12 | ₹24,000 |
| Data migration | A new portal, so nothing to move | ₹0 |
| Total cash cost | 45,000 + 6,000 + 5,900 + 3,801 + 3,000 + 24,000 | ₹87,701 |
Left out on purpose: SMS credits (rates vary by plan, and Tamil uses more parts), the WhatsApp platform fee, and staff time. One hour of moderation and member support per working day, Monday to Saturday for 50 weeks, is about 300 hours a year; price it at your own staff cost.
The script is about half of year one and none of year two: at the same volumes, year two comes to ₹42,701 plus staff time. A low build price on its own tells you little.
Check the "last updated" date before the price. In the CodeCanyon search we read, one matrimony script was last updated in March 2021. Hosts retire old PHP versions, and unmaintained code either breaks after an upgrade or keeps running with known holes.
A "nulled" script is a paid script with its licence check removed, passed around free. It gets no updates, and nobody can tell you what else was added to the code.
If profiles can be scraped, the misuse lands on your members and the complaints on you. In any demo, ask to see what a stranger, a free member and a paid member can each view.
The Digital Personal Data Protection Act covers personal data collected digitally, whatever software holds it. As the business deciding how member data is used, you must give a clear notice and take consent, keep reasonable security safeguards, report breaches to the Data Protection Board and affected members, and erase data when consent is withdrawn. The Act's Schedule allows penalties of up to ₹250 crore for failing to take reasonable security safeguards.
The DPDP Rules were notified in November 2025, and most of these duties are scheduled to apply from May 2027. In January 2026 the IT ministry consulted on bringing that forward; when we last checked, no change had been notified, so confirm the date before launch. This is general information, not legal advice.

Matrimonial Cloud is our white-label, multi-tenant platform on Laravel with a Filament admin: the SaaS row of the table. Each portal has its own domain, logo, theme, languages, tiers and prices, payment gateway, email, SMS and WhatsApp channels, moderation rules and feature toggles. We configure it, train your team and keep the platform updated.
Included in a portal today:
On the roadmap, not available yet: a CRM module, advertisements, reports, a mobile-app API and a public API. There is no native matrimony app today.
Gateway fees, DLT and SMS credits, WhatsApp charges and your moderators' time apply on every route, ours included; ask us to show them separately in the quote. We have carried SMS since 2000 and are an officially verified Meta Tech Provider, so one company sets up the portal and its messaging. See the feature list and membership and billing.
Our price is quoted after a demo call. The variables in section 2 decide it, so we show you the live platform first, hear how your community works, and then quote in writing.
Tell us your community, languages and rough member numbers. We walk you through the live portals on a call, then send a written quote. Monday to Saturday, 9 AM to 7 PM, on +91-95851-60363.
